Make Google Your Home Page in Google Chrome

  1. Open your Google Chrome browser.
  2. Click the Chrome menu bar. It's the small square button on the top right of your browser. It will say "Customize and control Google Chrome" when you hover your mouse over it.
  3. Click "Settings." It's fifth from the bottom of the drop-down menu. This will take you to your "Settings" page.
  4. Click "Show Home Button." You can find this option under "Appearance" in the middle of the page.
  5. Click "Change."
  6. Type in "www.google.com" under "Open this Page."
  7. Press "OK." Next time you open Google Chrome, you can click on the house icon to the left of the search bar on the top of the screen, and you will be taken to your new home page.

  1. Open your Firefox browser.
  2. Click "Firefox." It's the option on the top left of your menu bar.
  3. Click "Preferences." It's the second option from the top of the drop-down menu. This will take you to the "General" screen.
  4. Click "General." It's the option to the top left of the menu bar in the "General" screen and it looks like a light switch.
  5. Type "www.google.com" under "Homepage."
  6. Exit the "General Screen." You can do this by clicking on the red circle on top left of the screen. You're done — you don't have to confirm your new home page or press "Enter."

  1. Open your Internet Explorer browser.
  2. Type "www.google.com" in the search menu.
  3. Click the Tools button in the browser. It will look like a gear.
  4. Click "Internet Options."
  5. Click "Use Current."

  1. Open your Internet Explorer browser.
  2. Click the Tools menu.
  3. Click "Internet Options."
  4. Click the General tab.
  5. Type "https://www.google.com" in the text box in the "Home page" section.
  6. Click "OK."

  1. Open your Safari browser.
  2. Click "Safari." It's the option on the top left of your menu bar.
  3. Click "Preferences." It's third from the top of the drop-down menu. This will take you to the "General" screen.
  4. Click "General." It's the option to the top left of the screen. It looks like a light switch.
  5. Type "www.google.com" under "Homepage." You'll find this option in the middle of the screen.
  6. Press "Enter." After you do this, you will be asked if you're sure you want to change your home page to Google search.
  7. Click "Change Homepage."



Tips

  • If you want to check that you have successfully made Google your home page, just close your browser and open it again.
