Make Hair Wavy With Braids

Using braids to create wavy hair is a natural and effective method.

Steps

  1. Wash your hair and use conditioner.
  2. Use cold water to rinse it out and leave a little bit in.
  3. Dry your hair a little to remove the excess water.
  4. Braid hair into braids. This creates the wave. How many braids you put in is up to you. For thicker hair, you should use more braids, but for thin hair, you can use less braids. Try to find the right number of braids that works for you.
  5. Go to sleep! Get at least eight hours of sleep so that there's a greater change that your hair is dry and you won't be tired.
  6. Wake up, undo the braids and toss hair. It will be wavy for the day. Be careful, because it might still be wet!
  7. (Optional) Add hairspray but don't put gel or moose in it.

What to Do if your hair is still wet

  1. Put your hair back into braids if you took the braids off and secure it with rubber bands.
  2. Blow dry your hair. If you have a diffuser, use it, because it helps your hair. If not, use a cold setting for your hair.
  3. Blow dry until it's dry, which shouldn't be long since you slept in them.
  4. Take the braids off and put the rubber bands away for another time.
  5. Toss your hair and style it.

Tips

  • Try to braid your hair as close to the ends as you can.
  • When taking out the braid, use your fingers to run through the tangles. Don't brush it out, because it will become frizzy.
  • Use conditioner and shampoo suited to your hair type.
  • Spray with hairspray and maybe use a little mousse before you braid it.
  • After taking out the braids if it is really frizzy, put it back in a bun.
  • Braid the nine into large braids and braid those together as much as possible.

Warnings

  • Don't use a lot of mouse/gel in your hair it can build up and feel nasty.
