Make Natural Nails Look Like Acrylic Nails

Nobody wants gross, nubby looking nails, right? Well, in this how-to, you will learn how to get that perfect, acrylic nail look in the privacy of your own home!

Steps

  1. Clean all of the nail polish off your nails. If you have stains on them, file the part of your nail that you put nail polish on down and buff it until it is stain-free and shiny.
  2. File the top part of your nail down to make it look more rectangular.
  3. Press down your cuticles with a wet wipe until you feel it hurt slightly. Don't push it down too far or it will bleed.
  4. Put a clear base coat on your nails. Make sure to put the brush down by the cuticles and swipe upwards to create a smooth texture. Additionally, make sure that there is no excess base coat on your cuticle or finger.
  5. Put a nude color on your nails. Choose a pastel such as a light, pretty pink. Apply two coats of it.
  6. Make sure your color is dry. Now you will need a white nail polish. Put the french tip stickers right at the beginning of the white of your nail.
  7. Carefully paint your white nail polish right above the nail sticker.
  8. Wait until all nail polish is dry. When it's done, carefully remove the nail sticker.
  9. Put on a clear topcoat to secure the nail polish. Wait until everything's dry, and you're good to go!

Tips

  • Don't apply too thick of a coat of nail polish or else it will create little air bubbles.
  • Try adding a second layer of top coat for extra shine and protection.
  • File your nails in one direction to prevent splitting.
  • Use nail polish remover and a cotton bud to clean up the edges.
  • Try using tape to get the perfect french tip!
  • Don't use dark colors as a base coat.
