Make Plastic Guitar Picks



If you play the guitar, now you've got a nifty way to recycle all of those old ID cards and fake credit cards you get in the mail.

Steps

  1. Find a source of plastic that you desire to recycle into a useful object.
  2. Using a permanent marker, trace the outline of an existing guitar pick onto the plastic.
  3. Using quality scissors or a sharp hobby knife. Cut out the shape of the desired guitar pick.
  4. Using an emery board or a small scrap of fine sandpaper, smooth the edges of the pick.

Tips

  • You don't have to have a guitar pick to trace around with. You can print out an outline of a guitar pick, cut it out, trace it onto the plastic and simply cut out!
  • If you like to play fast, try narrowing the tip. It does wonders for your picking speed.
  • Look around online at the different shapes and styles of guitar picks, as they are preference and you may be inspired as to what design you'll love to make!
  • To save time you can just buy a guitar pick punch, you will be able to make a guitar pick out of just about anything.

Warnings

  • You can cut yourself when using sharp objects, so be careful.
