Make Waterless Hand Sanitizer

Steps

  1. Begin with 1 cup of aloe vera gel (a concentration from one of the oldest medicinal plants known). Add a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol.
  2. Mix in 2 teaspoons of vegetable glycerin.
  3. Add about 9 drops of tea tree essential oil.

Non-glycerin method

  1. Pour the aloe vera and isopropyl alcohol into the bowl. Use the spoon to mix them together until they are well blended
  2. Add 8 to 10 drops of essential oil in the bowl. (Optional.)
  3. Mix the essential oil in with the aloe vera and isopropyl alcohol together very well. (If you do the optional step.)
    • If you do use essential oils, use a fragrance that you think smells good.
  4. Pour the finished hand sanitizer into the empty container.
  5. Seal the container shut. This contains 65% alcohol.

Tips

  • You can use a number of different oils to create unique fragrances as well as provide different antibacterial advantages.
  • You could add a different scent to the first method if you wish.

Warnings

  • Avoid using too much, as this will take longer to absorb into your skin than commercially available hand sanitizer.
  • Keep this away from young children and pets.
