Make Yahoo! Your Internet Explorer Home Page

Do you prefer Yahoo! as your internet starting point? You can set Internet Explorer to open the Yahoo! search page (or any Yahoo! page for that matter) whenever Internet Explorer starts. You can also set multiple pages to open at once.

Steps

  1. Click the Tools menu. If you don't see the menu bar, press the Alt key.
    • This method works for all versions of Internet Explorer.
  2. Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
  3. Click the .General tab if it isn't open.
  4. Enter the Yahoo page you want to load into the "Home page" field. You can have Internet Explorer start at different Yahoo pages, depending on your preferences.
    • Search - www.yahoo.com
    • Mail - mail.yahoo.com
    • News - news.yahoo.com
    • Shopping - shopping.yahoo.com
  5. Add addresses to multiple lines to open multiple tabs (Internet Explorer 8 and later). If you want multiple Yahoo pages to open in separate tabs when you start Internet Explorer, you can add each of them to their own line the "Home page" field.
  6. Click .Apply to save your changes. Click OK to close the Internet Options window, and then close Internet Explorer.
  7. Start Internet Explorer again to see your new changes. The Yahoo! site(s) you specified should appear when Internet Explorer starts.
    • If your home page doesn't load Yahoo! and instead redirects to some other home page, you may have malware preventing you from changing your browser's settings. Get-Rid-of-Unwanted-Toolbars.
