Make a Babysitter Flyer
Are you ready to become a babysitter? Do you just need to know how to create a flyer to get started? Read on!
Steps
- Gather all your supplies: Things you may need are: Pencils/pens, paper, markers, crayons, stickers, or you could always type it on a computer.
- Start by writing your name and any basic info. For example:
- Babysitter available! I'm 14, and I love caring for kids. My name is Stacey and I have completed the Red Cross Babysitting course. I'm available after school, and weekends. Call @ 865-1234.
- Make sure to include a picture and contact information.
- You can also include past experiences with kids. For ex:
- I have a younger brother/sister who is 3 and care for him when our parents aren't home. This will help parent know that you are mature and can be trusted with kids.
- You may want to include mini cards with the flyer with your name, age and number so parents can remember.
- Once you're done with the info, decorate the flyer! Nothing catches a parents attention like colors.
Tips
- Make your flyer neat, but colorful! If you want your flyer to be noticed, make it pop out!
- Put flyers up in places where mothers go. For example, in neighborhoods with many kids, at the library, or other places where you can have your babysitting flyer be seen!
- If you have babysat before, ask the parents that you babysat for if they would be a reference.
- Take the babysitters course offered by the American Red Cross. They will teach you how to do CPR, and emergencies, etc. You may also find your local city offers babysitting classes.
- Hand out the flyers to certain people instead of hanging them up, so that only certain people will have your private information.
Warnings
- Do not lie about your age. You may look 16, but be only 14. If you lie, you could be expected to deal with difficult tasks such as: dealing with infant twins, dealing with 3 or more kids, etc.
- Be honest about your info. Do not lie and say you have taken the Babysitters Course when you haven't, you could get into serious trouble.
- Have at least some experience with kids. This will prove that you can handle the responsibility.
- Don't make your hourly cost too much or too little money.
