Make a Bucket Mouse Trap
This article explains how to catch a mouse.
Steps
- Cut open the plastic bag and lay it flat on a workbench.
- Using a sharp pointed knife, score the plastic bag to produce a circular piece of plastic that will fit inside the bucket.
- Fill the bucket 2/3 full of water.
- Place the plastic on the surface of the water.
- Sprinkle a layer of sunflower or other bird seed on the surface of the plastic.
- Set the ramp from the ground up to the rim of the bucket.
- Place a few seeds or crumbs on the ramp to lead the mice up to the rim of the bucket.
- The mice will run up the ramp, see the seeds, jump in and drown in the water.
- Fish the carcass out of the water and bury it in an unobtrusive place in the yard.
- Be prepared to find other little creatures such as small rats and chipmunks in the trap as well.
Warnings
- If you are easily scared by dead creatures, please do not use this.
- Don't try to handle a live wild animal
