Make a Good Place on ROBLOX

You want to make a good place on ROBLOX and get famous for it? Read this article to learn how!

Steps

  1. Click on "Develop" and "Edit" for the place you want to edit.
  2. Open ROBLOX Studio.
  3. Just insert a part. Click it once. Go to the left upper of your screen and find 'View' -> 'Properties'.
  4. When found properties, find the property 'Anchored' in part. Make it true. Make the top-surface 'Smooth' and the bottom-surface 'Smooth'.
  5. Now click the part once again.
  6. Go to left upper of your screen and find 'Insert' -> 'Object'.
  7. Find the 'Blockmesh' and insert it into the brick you selected.
  8. Resize the part, recolor it, and build anything you want. Be sure to use all properties including transparency, reflection , etc.
  9. If it's a fighting game, make a round-system. If it's a tycoon, be sure to make it work, and make enough tycoons. If it's an obby, be sure not to use too many colors. Only use tints of blue, green and brown. Red will make players mad when they can't win. Blue and green keeps them calm. If it's a minigame kind of game, make sure it works, and that you don't have to wait too long. If it's a disaster game, make sure the disasters are hard enough, and they don't have to wait too long for every disaster. If it's another kind of game, make something to do. A lot of hangout places on Roblox don't have any activities to do there.
  10. Add badges for the most hard things. Users will try to get a badge that's worth it. A 'You Played' badge is okay too. It advertises your own game on other people's profile.

      • 20 Minutes
      • 30 Minutes
      • 1 Hour
      • Winner (if your level is an obby)
      • VIP
      • Mega VIP
    • You must have Builders Club in order to make and upload badges to Roblox.
  11. Make sure your game doesn't break or lag a lot!
  12. Do not overuse free models! Three free models is too much. It'll just make your place really slow.
  13. Advertise your place for a lot of money. It's just investing in your place, not just throwing away money.
  14. Try playing the game with your friends, and more people will come.
  15. Learn to build your own models and/or script. It will make your game more original and unique.

Tips

  • Be careful for what you say in comments/forum/other community related things! If people don't like you, they wouldn't like your place either!
  • Update your game often, so it isn't the same thing over and over again.
  • When building, remember that the recommended maximum for bricks in a place is 3,000 bricks. You can go over the maximum, but not too much, because there's a higher chance of your game lagging and maybe even breaking.
  • Make 100% sure your place has something to do there! There's no point in playing in a place with no activities.
  • You can invite people into your place, although some people don't like to receive spam.
  • Try to be original when building. Make sure your place doesn't look like someone else's place.
  • Make a game that has an objective and is different from other games. For example: Solve the puzzles and find the golden key. If you make your game a hide and seek with one map, nobody's going to come.
  • Make sure it has a good thumbnail to increase your chances of getting users to click on the "Play" button!
  • Try to get it favorited by ROBLOX, Telamon, Builderman, or other famous guys, although this is unlikely.
  • If you want to make badges, you need to have Builders Club.
  • Make a fan group. If people join, consider your place to be epic!
  • When advertising, use grammar, and do not copy other ads.
  • You can also sell game passes for your game. You earn Robux for selling them however for those who have Builders Club you earn 70% of the money you earn selling them but without it you only earn 10% of the profit.
  • If you want people to play your game under a certain genre, don't forget to put one.
  • If you just started Roblox, be sure check for free items in the catalogue so that you will have a unique and different character from everyone else.

Warnings

  • Save it every half an hour so you don't lose the place you were building in.
  • When making a fan game on Roblox, make sure you get permission from the owners/IP Holders of the original game. Game development businesses are right now cracking down on on fan games.
  • Save it to your computer. If Roblox didn't save it, your computer does.
  • If you save your place and then later you find that you liked it the way it was before, go to "Configure this Place", go to the bottom of the page, and select the version you want to revert it to.
  • Never advertise your place via comments on other places/items! This could get you banned and/or your place(s) removed regardless of how good the game is.
