Make a Jack Daniel's Marinade
Whiskey, tequila, canned beer and rum are favorite liquors to use to kick up the taste in recipes, such as Make a Rum Cake or beer can chicken. Use this whiskey marinade to give your next barbecue meal an alcoholic sensation.
Makes 1 1/4 cups
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) Jack Daniel's whiskey
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup green onions, minced
- 1/4 cup (55g) light brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
- Black pepper, to taste
Steps
- Prepare and measure all of the ingredients.
- First pour soy sauce in the bowl.
- Mix soy sauce with mustard.
- Add minced green onions.
- Add 1 teaspoon of salt.
- Add a dash of black pepper.
- Add the brown sugar.
- Now, add 1/4 cup of Jack Daniel's Whiskey.
- Combine everything using a wire whisk.
- Use the marinade immediately. Set aside a small amount for basting.
- Marinate any meat, such as chicken, pork, or beef overnight.
- Marinate any seafood, such as shrimp for about 30 to 60 minutes.
- Use any unused marinade as a baste. About 3 minutes before the food is done grilling, use a baste brush and brush the marinade onto the food.
