Make a Nether Reactor in Minecraft Pocket Edition

Making a nether reactor in Minecraft is the only way to get many useful items. It is also the only way to have any extra-dimensional contact - you can't go to the Nether in PE. Here is how to set up your Nether Reactor.

Steps

  1. Gather thirty-six gold and six diamonds. These are necessary items to craft the Nether Reactor Core.
  2. Make four gold blocks.
  3. Get 14 cobblestone.
  4. Make a 3 by 3 plus on the ground out of cobblestone
  5. Fill the corners in with gold blocks
  6. Place the nether reactor in the middle of the plus on top.
  7. Place cobblestone blocks on top of the gold blocks.
  8. Make another cobblestone plus sign on top of the nether reactor layer.
  9. Don't fill in the corners.
  10. Tap the Nether Reactor Core. It will generate a Nether Spire.
  11. Watch the nether-rack room and zombie pigmen spawn.
  12. Collect as many items as you can while surviving pigmen.
  13. Use your pickaxe to dig your way out.



Tips

  • A better pickaxe will let you get out faster.
  • If you're worried about too many zombie pigmen, try starting the reactor on easy.
  • You cannot start a nether reactor in creative.
  • This does not work in creative. Only survival.
  • Have at least a diamond sword so the pigmen don't overwhelm you.
  • You have to tap on the reactor with a sword or other item, and the block will be placed.
  • Try to put all of your valuables in a chest in case you die in the Nether Reactor.
  • You can retrieve your nether reactor if you break the obsidian that replaced the other blocks you used.
