Make a Pill Case from Plastic Bottle Caps

It's possible to make a pretty pill case with two plastic Start a Bottle Cap Collection. It can also make a good gift box or storage case for earrings. So save all those bottle caps from when you recycle and do something useful with them!

Steps

  1. Cut a rectangular piece of plastic out of the flat part of a plastic bottle, as shown. Adjust to fit snugly inside the cap (about 10.5 cm x 2 cm).
  2. Put a little glue on the side that will go into the cap, and insert.
  3. Cover with another cap of the same size.
  4. Decorate the lid with plastic beads as you wish.

Tips

  • You can make a screw-on version by using two caps from the same product and using the threaded top of the bottle for the insert. When gluing, insert the rough-cut edge of the threaded neck down and allow enough threads to protrude above the cap's lip so that the second bottle cap can "catch" and screw down tightly.

Variations

  • When two caps of the same label are chosen, it fits tightly.
  • Please adjust the size of the plate by the size of the cap.
For the box in this picture, a cap of {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} in diameter and {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} in height is used.

Warnings

  • These lids are not child resistant. Do not allow children to have easy reach to these if they contain pills.
