Make a Prank Virus (Windows)

Want to get a friend back for their prank on you? If you know they have a PC, you can tweak it to frustrate your friends for a bit. Stay close by so you can watch their reaction!

Steps

Method 1 (Causes Explorer.exe to crash)

Method 2 (Causes Explorer.exe to stop)

For the first file

  • Save this file as "virus.bat".
    1. Click File
    2. Click Save As
    3. Change the Save as type: to All Files
    4. Select ANSI as the Encoding type
    5. Name the file virus.bat
    6. Click Start->All programs here on this sub-menu right click on "start up" and select Explore from options given. This opens "start up" folder now cut your virus.bat file and paste it into this start up folder opened.
    7. For more effectiveness right click on your virus.bat file go to properties and select the option Hidden and press OK
    8. You have planted a prank and annoying virus into the computer.
    9. The next time this computer is turned on, your batch file (virus.bat) in the start up folder is executed automatically which commands the computer to shutdown in 0 seconds(i.e., immediately).
    10. Now, anyone turning on the computer will have no time to do anything because it will shutdown automatically every time the system turns on and comes to desktop.

    For Second File

    1. Save this file as "virus.bat".
    2. Click File
    3. Click Save As
    4. Change the Save as type: to All Files
    5. Select ANSI as the Encoding type
    6. Name the file virus.bat
    7. Just run it...!! It is harmless it will just stop explorer.exe
    8. Remember Keep Pressing enter.....
    9. No harm could take place to your computer....

    Tips

    • If instead of -s in method 1, -r is used, the computer is commanded to restart and when restarted automatically it is again commanded to restart and the process goes on indefinitely.
    • To disable these "viruses" start the computer in Safe Mode and delete the .bat file from the Startup folder.
    • Method 2: To cancel the "virus" press [Alt]+[Tab] simultaneously.
    • Method 1: If you use windows vista you may have to use a / instead of a -.

    Warnings

    • Some people might not enjoy this prank, so make sure to choose your victim carefully.
    • Make sure to have a Linux / Hirens Boot CD on hand to undo this.
    • Press F8 rapidly while starting up to show the safe mode option. use this mode to get rid of the "virus".
