Make a Southern Roadhouse BBQ

The southern roadhouse BBQ is a mouthwatering sandwich made with brats sauteed in onions and barbecue sauce... Mmm... Doesn't that just sound delicious?! Follow these simple steps and you can whip up a delicious BBQ in no time!

Ingredients

  • 5 links Johnsonville Heat & Serve Bratwurst (1/2-inch bias sliced)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced into 1-inch rings
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced thinly
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce
  • 16 oz cabbage slaw (shredded)
  • 16 oz cole slaw dressing
  • 5 crusty kaiser rolls

Steps

  1. Place a pan of olive oil on medium-high heat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic to the pan.
  3. Sauté the mixture until it becomes golden and onions still retain their integrity.
  4. Add the sliced bratwurst and the BBQ to onion mixture and heat.
  5. Place cabbage slaw into a bowl and add the dressing.
    • Blend the cabbage slaw and dressing well.
  6. Take one Kaiser Roll and slice it into halves.
  7. Put about a 1/2 cup of the BBQ mixture onto the bottom half of the roll.
  8. Place 3 tablespoons of the coleslaw mix on top of the BBQ.
  9. Place the other half of the roll back on and serve!
  10. Finished.

Tips

  • The southern roadhouse BBQ is best when it is served hot and fresh.
