Make a Toothpick Disappear

This trick will fool almost anybody and it is really simple, too.

Steps

Get a toothpick (small ones recommended) and a small piece of tape that will fit on your thumbnail.
Place the bottom of the toothpick in the tape and place the tape on the nail of your thumb.
Take the toothpick out of the tape so it leaves a small opening for the toothpick to go back in.
Go up to somebody with the toothpick in your mouth and say "Wanna see a cool trick" or some other saying to do with magic tricks. Take the toothpick out of your mouth and place it back into the tape while you are speaking to them.
Cover the tape with the bottom tip of your index finger so they can see the toothpick and not the tape.
Count to three and then flick your thumb up super fast so the toothpick is hidden behind your thumb. It looks like you made the toothpick disappear out of thin air.
To bring it back, look like you're about to grasp something out of thin air and then put your thumb back into the position it was before you made the toothpick disappear. Tada! You're magic!

Make sure you do it in front of a crowd or person that is not surrounding you are standing to the side.
Practice in front of a mirror so you know what angle to put your thumb at.
