Make an Otaku Room

Are you an Otaku? Is your room currently just a plain bedroom? In this article you will learn a couple of tricks to turn your room into an Otaku room - and fast!

Steps

  1. Find a source of money to start this big project! Without money, you will not go far. If you don't have a job, get one! If you do, take out a wad of money. If you are a kid, save your allowance or ask your parents for some money. Hopefully they will say yes.
  2. Decide what anime you will decorate your room in. Sailor Moon? Lucky star? And remember, you don't have to choose just one theme. Watch Anime, read translated novels, Manga, visual novels and play all of these Touhou shooters and dating games that require to set your OS language to Japanese or something.
  3. Be part of a Anime Community online but be careful, you might turn into a very critic person and lose the ability to enjoy Anime.
  4. Go on eBay! At eBay they will have cheap anime and manga and DVDs. Used ones wouldn't be a bad idea to buy since they will still be in good condition just not mint! Buy some figures, wall scrolls/posters, plushies, pillows, clocks, phone charms, phone cases, watches, magazines and more! (Get a hold of at least 3 Dakimakura pillows.
  5. Display the things you have bought. Put your anime plushies on your bed. Put your figures on your nightstand, desk etc. Hang up the posters, don't leave them balled up in plastic! If you have manga, magazines, or DVDs put them on a bookshelf saying: Anime only! or: [insert your name here]'s anime or manga or DVD etc. If you bought blankets or pillows put them on your bed. They will look nice. Display any other merchandise and you are set enjoy your new room!
  6. Use Blu-tack if you really want to cover all walls in the room with posters. Blu-tack is cheap and easy to handle, it can damage the walls a bit if you rip it off and sometimes you will have to use more that just 4 pieces for each corner of a poster especially if you want to cover the ceiling and with large posters.
  7. Try to hide your power level. Don't tell anybody about you little secret, if you have real life friends or a family that does want to enter you place at times, don't get to hardcore on the posters because you will have to remove them every time when somebody visits you. If you still live with your parents find a way to get your ordered stuff without them noticing and hide it at a place where they will never find it.
  8. If you are part of a certain web culture, you have to celebrate Christmas and Saint Valentine's with your waifu, take a picture and post it for everybody to see. You can even cook a meal and make your waifu presents.

Tips

  • Don't wish for a normal life, be proud of what you are.
