Practice Being an Artist

If you want to be an artist when you grow up, why not start practicing now? Try drawing colorful, pretty pictures, painting glass stones or Paint Rocks for People, (see article how to paint glass stones) and making animals out of clay. People will admire your artwork - even your parents!

Steps

  1. Start off by drawing pictures. Draw pictures of anything you like. Try watching cartoons and drawing pictures of them. You could draw animals and even something in your house.
  2. Color the pictures you drew. Use different colors. Practice making the pictures look real. Cartoon-ish is still okay.
  3. Paint pictures. Use different kinds of brushes and colors to make the painting look like the object or cartoon you are painting. Making it look real takes a lot of practice, but you can at least try it out. Start out with acrylic paints - they are easier to use than, for example, watercolors or oil paints.
  4. Paint glass stones, Paint Rocks for People, or even boiled eggs. See the article how to paint glass stones to find out how. Go outside and look for some rocks with no bugs on them. You can even paint eggs. Make sure they have the shell on.
  5. Make things out of clay. Most people make animals out of clay. Others make other things. You can do either one! Start off with regular dough-like clay. Later, try harder things like pottery. After all, you will be an artist soon.
