Program a Comcast Remote to an Insignia TV
So you just got a glorious, flat panel HD Insignia TV. If you have Comcast, the next step after getting the TV hooked up is to program the Comcast remote control so that you can use it on your new TV. But there's a problem: Insignia's not listed in the TV codes! Here's what to do.
Steps
- Turn on the TV you are programming.
- Press and hold the "Setup" button on your remote until the status LED changes from red to green.
- Type in the 4-digit or 5-digit code listed below using the number buttons. Additional codes may be found in the remote manual. Most likely code 12002, 11780 - Others to try 11204, 10171, 10463, 11963, 10842, 11463, 11265, 11641, 11326, 11785, 11892, 11517, 11385, 11660, 10178, 11603, 10037
- If the code is entered correctly, the status LED will blink green twice. If the status LED blinks red, then green the code was not entered correctly. Check that you are entering the correct code and try again.
- Use the remote to operate your TV (use Power, VOL, etc.)
- If these steps don’t work, try another 4-digit or 5-digit code and repeat the above.
