Replace Batteries on an Apple Magic Mouse
Oh no! You are using your Apple Magic Mouse and it runs out of batteries! This article will show you how to replace the batteries on an apple wireless mouse.
Steps
- Flip the mouse over.
- Turn mouse off by sliding the round metal disk, found next to the optical lens, down toward the center of the mouse.
- Below the text on the bottom of the mouse, there is a black tab. Push the black away from the Apple symbol, and the battery cover should make a pop sound.
- Remove the cover (metal between the black sliders) of the mouse by lifting up on the bottom edge of the cover.
- Remove the two AA batteries one at a time.
- Replace with two new AA batteries.
- Note that "Duracell" cells may not work - this issue is discussed on the web.
- Apple do offer a recharger plus 6 batteries, which certainly works, but cheaper batteries may also work.
- On each battery the negative (completely flat end) goes on the side next to the black catch. Each battery pushes in one of the shiny things sticking out.
- Insert the top part of the battery cover into the body of mouse.
- Push gently on bottom of mouse, where the black tab is, and it should pop back in.
- Turn the mouse on again by sliding the switch away from the center of the mouse
- Flip over and enjoy!
Tips
- You may have to wait a little for the mouse to connect.
- The batteries will last longer if you switch the mouse off (see above) sometimes. If left on permanently, they'll need replacing every couple of months.
Warnings
- You are not supposed to put used batteries in with normal household rubbish. Supermarkets and rubbish dumps often have a special container.
