Set a Specific Country in a Tor Browser

Tor browser is usually used for anonymous browsing and hiding your real IP address. If you are using Facebook on Tor, for example, maybe your account asks for a security check point every time, because Tor changes its location continuously. Here is a way to set Tor's Exit Node to a specific IP address.

Steps

  1. Open the location where your Tor browser is installed.
  2. Open the Browser folder inside Tor's directory.
  3. Double click on Tor Browser folder.
  4. Click on Data folder.
  5. Choose Tor inside the Data folder.
  6. Edit Torrc file. Right click on the Torrc file and open with it Notepad.
  7. Set Exit Node for Tor, for example:
    ExitNodes {za} StrictNodes 1
. In curly brackets {za} stands for South Africa. You can use any other country code. See list of Tor exit nodes here.
  8. Save Torrc file. Open your Tor browser, check your IP address or simply open www.google.com, you will see the country name under Google's logo.
