Set a Specific Country in a Tor Browser
Tor browser is usually used for anonymous browsing and hiding your real IP address. If you are using Facebook on Tor, for example, maybe your account asks for a security check point every time, because Tor changes its location continuously. Here is a way to set Tor's Exit Node to a specific IP address.
Steps
- Open the location where your Tor browser is installed.
- Open the Browser folder inside Tor's directory.
- Double click on Tor Browser folder.
- Click on Data folder.
- Choose Tor inside the Data folder.
- Edit Torrc file. Right click on the Torrc file and open with it Notepad.
- Set Exit Node for Tor, for example:
ExitNodes {za} StrictNodes 1
. In curly brackets {za} stands for South Africa. You can use any other country code. See list of Tor exit nodes here. - Save Torrc file. Open your Tor browser, check your IP address or simply open www.google.com, you will see the country name under Google's logo.
