Steps
- Think about how you got them. UGG boots will never arrive on your doorstep in a bag. You can only get an UGG bag at an UGG store.
- Check the height of your boots. Fake boots are too tall; you might be only able to tell this if you have a real pair to compare them to.
- Examine the box they came in. The boxes are VERY different. Fake ones are hinged, have handles, different art, and are bulky.
- Turn the boot around and check the heel label. The heel label font is too big and stylized incorrectly. In addition, the threads on the label will also be mismatched and asymmetrical. The label will be wider and sloppily stitched. The differences between fake and real labels is a bit hard to tell.
- Feel the fur inside the boots. Synthetic fur is slippery, silky and just feels fake. Real fur is a bit rougher and thicker.Counterfeit boots have synthetic fur on the inside that cannot be seen from the top opening. There is a layer of foam between the inner and outer lining of the boot.
- Bend the foot part of the boot. Real UGG boots are easy to bend and walk in, while fake ones are stiff and unyielding.
- See if they came with a tag attached to them. Hanging tags are not used on real UGG classic products.
- Look at the security label behind the size/materials label on the left boot or shoe. If you turn it over, you will see the UGG label with suns at the bottom in 3D. If you turn it 90 degree, it will change from black to white.
- Examine how the forefoot goes to the toe. The forefoot of the fake boot should be sloped towards the toe, which does not provide a comfortable space for your foot.
- Check the label on the box. Real labels have a picture of the product, and the top half of the barcode is colored.
