Succeed in a "Star Wars Battlefront 2" Galactic Conquest

Whenever you and your army make planet fall, does it seem like you always lose and you get the "bantha fodder" trophy? Do you keep running back to one of your few strongholds and creating a new fleet, all for failed land campaigns? During space battles, do you often crash into your own cruiser, or get vaped by the enemy's fighters because of your inability as a pilot? This easy-to-follow guide is certain to lead you to victory, no matter whether you are on land, in space, or in orbit.

Steps

  1. Take control of your favorite faction in the "Galactic Conquest" menu, or load a previous struggle for domination.
  2. Stock up on bonuses for any battle situation (see TIPS for highly recommended bonuses).
  3. Move your fleet to the nearest enemy planet.
  4. Prepare to attack!

Ground Combat

  1. Before the battle, activate your choice of bonuses to benefit your army during the fight.
  2. Use whichever unit will benefit your side the most.
  3. Explore the terrain map and memorize your objectives (i.e. capturing enemy command posts) while blasting your way through enemy reinforcements.
  4. Dominate the field by using a one-man strategy to force the enemy's reinforcement count to drop to zero or capture all enemy command posts and hold them for twenty seconds.

Space Combat

  1. Hop in a bomber and go to the enemy frigates. Destroying them will usually give you the Guardian and War Hero awards, giving you extra protection/damage.
  2. Go to the enemy capital ship. If you don't have the War Hero award yet, then try to kill a few fighters on the way.
  3. Bomb the critical systems. The recommended order to take them out is:
    • Shields, of course. Just fly along the ship's length, so that all of your bombs are sure to hit. Unload all six at the same time.
    • Engines
    • Bridge
    • Communications
    • Sensors
    • Life Support

Stuck? Try Cheating

  1. Want to be known as a god, during offline play? Try this cheat, which makes you become invincible. During a match, Press Start, hold L2 and R2, then enter the following combination: Up Up Up Left Down Down Down Left Up Up Up Left Right. This cheat will last until you turn off your system. Cheat doesn't not work during online play.
  2. Running out of Ammo? No problem. Enter this cheat for regenerating ammo. This cheat is helpful if you want to use more than the stock grenades, rocket launchers, ect. Press Start, hold L2 and R2, then enter the following combination: Up Down Left Down Down Left Down Down Left Down Down Down Left Right. Cheat does not work during online play. Cheat will last until you turn the system off or if you do the cheat again. You may find you will need this if you have the invincibility cheat on!

Tips

  • During a non-fighting turn, stock up on bonuses, depending on your amount of credits. The best bonuses are:
    • Sabotage, which causes all enemy vehicles to take damage upon spawning in. Perfect for important space battles.
    • Leader, which allows you to play as the Jedi, Sith, or Separatist leader for that planet. A great leader in the right hands easily turns the tide of a single battle. Just make sure that the hero is useful. Use this only when you can't win without it.
    • Garrison, which gives your reinforcement count a boost when your numbers are dwindling. Many times, this can be the difference between defeat and victory. Great bonus for any battle.
    • Supplies, which increases the amount of ammo a troop can carry at once. Great for maps with lots of sniping or vehicles to take out. Don't use this if you never run out of ammo anyway.
    • Auto turret, which, as the name implies, gives you automatic turret defences around your spawn points. Great for any ground battle.
  • Consider the enemy faction you will be facing. If you don't like your opponent's special units, then consider playing as a different army.
  • As well as buying fleets and bonuses, you will also need to buy the units that make up your army. The recommended order is:
    • Engineer. This should be your first purchase, before you even fight any battles or buy any bonuses.
    • Commander or Assault Trooper.
    • The unit above that you didn't buy.
    • Specialty Unit. This depends on what your factions' unit is, but this is usually a good place for it.
    • Sniper. Buy this sooner if you're planning on attacking/defending a good sniping planet, such as Tatooine or Kamino
    • Marine. This unit shouldn't be bought at all unless you can only win space battles by playing it.
    • While sniping, always have cover! Just because your an assassin doesn't mean you can't be killed.
  • When using vehicles, as satisfying as it may be to see your enemies go flying, remember that if they capture all of the CPs, you lose, no matter how many of them you kill.
  • Don't get sentimental. If you start feeling sorry for your enemy, you'll get blasted in no time, so there's no place for feelings on the battlefield.
