Swim While on Your Period Without a Tampon
Well I think the title is pretty self-explanatory, but this is how to swim on your period without a tampon. I'm a swimmer so I had to use this trick for a while. It isn't perfect, but does work fairly well.

Steps
- If you are on your period, you are already wearing a tampon or pad, obviously. So when you go to change into your swimsuit, remove the pad or tampon.
- Generally, the flow of menstrual blood will stop in the water.
- If you have a very heavy flow, you'll want to put on a pad or tampon right after getting out as the blood is only stopped in the water.
Tips
- If you plan on sunbathing beforehand, postpone removing your pad or tampon (you can even wear a pad inside your swimsuit while you sunbathe), until you are about to get in.
- It is only a myth that your period stops while you are in water. It may slow down a little and be less noticeable, but it is still there.
- You can wear a small panty liner in the water and this works very well.
- Some tampons can even be worn into water but read labels before attempting this.
Warnings
- Make sure to put on a pad or tampon immediately after getting out of the pool so you don't start to "leak".
