Steps
- Keep your bathroom clean and warm. This makes it a very pleasant place to be and where you want to be.
- Choose a soap that has a good scent and wash your body well before you get into the water if you wish. Sweet scents help to relax you thoroughly.
- Fill the bathtub up with water and add a body soap or bath foam that makes rich soap bubbles if you wish.
- Keep your body in the bathtub until you sweat a little bit. Fifteen to twenty minutes is a good length of time. Stay in longer if desired. (Dip your head underwater if desired.)
- Prepare a small towel that has a rough surface and scrub your body smoothly as you sit in the bath. A facecloth is a perfect size.
- Wash. Once you have finished rubbing your body, you can wash your body with body shampoo or just shower gel or bath gel. Lavender has a nice relaxing scent.
- Rinse your body with cool water.
- Dab your self dry-don't rub dry.
- Rub body lotion or body butter onto your skin after the bath.
Tips
- Keep slippers on a heater for when you finish your bath to keep your feet warm and comfy!
- It is a good idea to get rid of the dirt from a drain-outlet after bathing.
- When you rinse your body with warm water at the end of the bath, some dirt will remain on your body apparently. So you should use cool water when you finish your bath.
- If you want, add calm background music.
- If you want, light a candle.
Warnings
- Be careful with the temperature. Sitting in water that is very hot can increase your body temperature making you feel dizzy, nauseous or pass out in extreme circumstances. To avoid this dangerous problem make sure that the water is at a comfortable temperature, if it feels too hot then it almost certainly is!
- When you scrub your body with some rough towels, you have to be careful with your skin. If you scrub too hard, your skin will get very dry and maybe peel off.
- Don't put only hot water in the bath, you could get scalded.
- Although keeping the door locked would provide privacy, don't. This doesn't mean if family members live with you they can come in whenever they want! If you slip or fall asleep, and the door's locked, you can drown while you are underwater with nobody to save you. By the time your family realizes this, it will be too late. It sounds silly, but it is true.
