Treat a Small Cut With Vaseline
If you've cut yourself and you have no plasters, follow this method to stop the bleeding.
Steps
- Clean the wound. This is important, as you need to make sure that no dirt or bacteria is in the wound. Use a sterile gauze pad or rinse with water.
- Dry the cut.
- Apply Vaseline to the affected area - this will stop the bleeding.
Tips
- The Vaseline is absorbed into your skin so you can leave it to heal while getting on with what you were doing.
- Make sure that you put a thick layer of Vaseline on the cut, but not too thick.
- Carmex or any lip balm will do the job just as well. Carmex is especially good as it contains an antiseptic.
Warnings
- Do not use this method to treat a large wound - it's only for small cuts.
