Use Nikon ViewNX 2

If you have a Nikon, there is software that you can get from them to make it easier to handle the workflow for it. Nikon ViewNX 2 is one of them. Learn how to use it here.

Steps

  1. If you don't have it, locate the Nikon website for your area. An example would be NikonUSA for the states and surrounding area. Install it and boot it up. The default is the Browser.
  2. Change your options, if needed. To do that, go to Edit >> Options and scroll through your various choices. If you are unsure, wait until you are more familiar with the software.
  3. Navigate to where you want to work on your files. Click on Geotag. This enables you to tag your photos. Read the little blurb that comes up, then check the box and close it.
    • If your camera doesn't have the ability to record GPS data into your images, then this screen is what you will see.
    1. Type in the address that you want to tag your photos with.
    2. Click on the pin and drag it to where you want to geotag the image with.
  4. Edit your picture. You can edit both RAW files and non-RAW files.
  5. If you need to transfer photos, do it by clicking on the transfer icon. Nikon ViewNX 2 incorporates Nikon Transfer.
  6. Filter your images with Nikon ViewNX 2 by clicking on View >> Filter >> Use Filters. This allows you to label and rate your images.
  7. Change the way you view the images by making your choices on the Selects View Mode.
