Use the Metro in Copenhagen
The Metro in Copenhagen connects some, but not all, central locations, such as the airport and the city centre. Here is how to navigate the system!
Steps
- If you arrive at the Kastrup airport, jump onto any train leaving the airport towards the City - do not take the one to Sweden! (Unless you want to go there, of course). There is now also a Metro station at the airport connecting you to (almost) the centre of Copenhagen
- To legally use the trains and the Metro and the buses and the S-trains, buy a 'Clip card' or a one-time ticket and stamp the card (but not the ticket) in the yellow stamping machines on the platform - twice is good for most central locations. Fines are 600 Kroner (about UKP 50) if you are caught without a ticket
- An already initiated ticket will work for an hour or more (depending on the number of clips on it) so you can use the same ticket for multiple consecutive rides.
- The Metro is a simple linear system, maps are plentiful and so on
Tips
- Ticket machines are available on the platforms.
- The Metro leaves every two minutes, do not rush. [citation needed]
