Take a Bus in Fu Jian, China

Taking a bus in China requires knowledge owing to its high population. During the rush hour of the day, it is difficult to take a bus as there are long queues of people waiting to board one of their choice. In Fu Jian, there are two kinds of buses. One is privately owned and the other one belongs to the government. The private buses allow you to board them from wherever you want and also drop you at your selected destination. But for the government buses, it picks you up from a bus stop and also drops you only at a bus stop.

Steps

  2. Wait for the bus. For the private bus, you can just stand at the side of the road. For the government one, you have to wait at the bus stop.
  3. Stop the bus when you see it arriving.
  4. Get into the bus.
  5. Pay for the ticket. When you get into the bus, the ticket collector will ask you to pay the ticket based on the destination you want to travel to.
  6. Ask the bus driver to stop on arriving at your destination.
  7. Get down from the bus and walk to the place you want to go to.

  • Speak in Chinese to the bus driver and ticket collector, because most of the people in Fu Jian cannot speak in English.
  • The charges for tickets are comparatively higher for private buses.
  • There is no notice board with information regarding buses for passengers. So, you must be very clear about the destination.
  • Remember, China has a different way of selling tickets. Instead of using fancy machines for selling tickets, a ticket collector is employed to sell tickets. He comes around the bus asking for your tickets to check whether everyone has paid for their bus ride.

  • You need to wait in a long queue for your bus during the rush hour of the day.
  • There are many thieves in the bus stops and the buses. Be careful of your bag and valuables.
