Add a New Album on Facebook

Facebook is a web-based social media application that lets its users share photos, news, links and other posts throughout the day. You can create groups of your photos, called "albums," and then publish them to your news feed and your profile. Here's how to add a new album on Facebook from pictures stored on your computer's hard drive.

Steps

  1. Launch a web browser window and navigate to the Facebook website, which is linked in the "Sources" section.
  2. Log in to your Facebook account with your user name and password.
  3. Click the "Photos" link under your profile picture in the left pane.
    • If your default view is the News Feed, click on your profile picture to locate the Facebook Photo link.
  4. Upload your photos.

    • Find the "Create Album" button in the upper right corner of the window. Click this button and then click "Select Photos."
    • A window will launch allowing you to select the photo files you want in your Facebook album.
    • Browse to the location of your picture files. Hold the control key and click each picture you want to add to your Facebook album. Click the "Open" button when you are done.
  5. Provide a name for your new album while the files upload.
  6. Choose the friends you want to show the album.
  7. Click the "Create Album" button.
  8. Supply details, captions and tags for your Facebook photos and then click the "Save Changes" button.

  9. Your photo album will now be available under your profile and will also publish to your feed.

Tips

  • You can upload photos stored on your camera by transferring them to your hard drive or by using your camera as a portable external drive. Connect the camera to the computer via a USB cable and follow the prompts from your operating system.
  • You can edit your album by returning to the "Photos" link and clicking on the album you want to change. An "Edit Album" link will be available near the top of the screen if you need to move photos, edit captions or make other changes.
