Always Run an Application As Administrator in Windows Vista

Sometimes it may become a problem that users of Windows Vista have to allow permission or enter passwords to allow the computer to run certain applications which require administrator verifying. More often than not the administrator themselves must carry out this duty. This option can be easily circumvented in just a few steps, which will allow you to run a shortcut as an administrator.

Steps

  1. Right click on the application's shortcut icon.
  2. Select Properties on the menu. A dialog box will appear on the screen.

  3. Click theAdvanced button under the Shortcut tab in the dialog box.

  4. Check the Run as administrator box.

  5. Click the OK button (or press Enter on your keyboard if the button is highlighted by default).
  6. Finish by clicking Apply and then OK. Your preferences have been saved. Next time you open the shortcut to the application you performed the task for your computer will no longer require administrative permission.
