Apply Powder Blush
After you apply foundation, you may look like a ghost. A natural (or not so natural, in some cases!) flush can give you a nice glow that gives off the appearance of liveliness. Powder blush is one of the most common blushes to wear, however it can be tricky to use.
Steps
- Lightly swirl your blush brush in your Match Blush with a Red Lipstick or Gloss. Tap off or blow off any excess to avoid having a huge color deposit on your cheek.
- Smile. The round parts of your cheeks that show when you smile are what you apply blush on. Lightly brush the color onto this part, the apples, until you have a bit of color on your cheeks.
- To have a brighter color on your cheeks just go back and do the same again. Don't forget to blend the blush in.
- Avoid tapping and pressing hard on your cheeks as it may damage your brush.
- Work your way back towards your hairline. Run the brush back and forth along your cheekbone for a more natural appearance.
- Blend well. Avoid having a significant line of blush in comparison to your skin. You're ready to go!
Tips
- Brushing a little blush on different areas - lids, brow bone, nose, chin, and forehead - is a quick way to add a little radiance to the face.
- Clip or tie back your hair (including your side-burn "baby hairs") to keep hair streaks out.
- Be sure your makeup brushes are clean to avoid transfer of color and germs.
- To boost the staying power of blush, or give a little more depth to your cheek color, try dusting a bit of powder blush over a cream blush base.
- Match Blush with a Red Lipstick or Gloss creates a more pulled together and prettier appearance.
