Apply Feminine Makeup

Makeup is a fun addition to any woman's "look"; however, if used incorrectly it can appear distasteful. However, makeup can be applied in a natural and feminine way if used correctly and sparingly.

Steps

  1. Apply a yellow-based sheer water-based liquid foundation to areas with discoloration.
  2. Apply a concealer to areas with discoloration, fine lines, dark circles, or pimples. Use a green based concealer for pimples and a peach based concealer for dark circles.
  3. Apply a sheer yellow-based powder to face lightly with a large brush, concentrating on shiny areas.
  4. Apply a powder blush to the apples of the cheeks where you are naturally flush. Use a rose colored tint for fair skin and a peach colored tint for tan skin.
  5. Apply a sheer liquid highlighter to the top of your cheekbones and under your eyebrows using a light touch.
  6. Apply a neutral eyeshadow to the entire eyelid. Use recommended tones.
  7. Apply a slightly lighter shadow to the inner corner of the eye.
  8. Apply a slightly darker shadow to the crease of the eye.
  9. Apply light eyeliner in brown or black depending on skin or hair color to the top lash line and very sparingly to the bottom lash line. Do not pull your lid out while applying; it will create wrinkles!
  10. Apply however many coats you would like of lengthening or voluminous mascara, to top lashes. Apply a thin coat to the bottom lashes if you'd like. (Bottom lash mascara is optional; not everyone is for the look.)
  11. Apply a lip gloss or sheer lipstick. Use recommended tones.
  12. Finished.

Tips

  • Avoid using too much concealer or foundation or your face will look cakey.
  • Try looking at youtube videos for more ideas on how to apply feminine and natural makeup.
  • For a more casual 'weekend' look, use only steps 2, 4, 6, 10, and 11. Be sure to use a light touch and sheer shades.
  • For a more glamorous look, feel free to have fun with more dramatic shades of eyeshadow and lip color and perhaps a heavier mascara or liquid eyeliner.
  • For Eye Color:

    • Brown Eyes-blues, greens
    • Green Eyes-pinks, purples
    • Blue Eyes-peaches, metallics
    • Hazel Eyes-browns, maroons
  • For Lip Color:
    • Fair Hair-pinks, roses, lighter tones
    • Dark Hair-reds, coppers, darker tones
    • Red Hair-peaches, neutral tones
  • If you have light hair and eyes, try using brown eyeliner and mascara. It will look more natural with your coloring.
