Make a Creme Blush

Is your powder blush not moisturizing enough? Need the flow of cream, and the dewy finish with a healthy sheen? You need a crème blush - no need to go out and buy one! Save money and still use your favorite shade by following this article's steps!

Steps

Standard Creme Blush

  1. Take your usual powder blush or eyeshadow compact and have the brush in your hand.
  2. Tap the blush with the end of the brush, using the bristles end. You should end up freeing a layer of "loose" powder makeup.
  3. Flip the compact upside down over a dish. makeup granules should fall onto the dish.
  4. Sweep the granules together in a pile with a piece of scrap paper.
  5. Squirt a button of lotion onto the pile.
  6. Mix the powder and lotion together with a toothpick.
  7. Sweep your finger in the cream blush, and apply to face. It should now feel much creamier and smooth.
  8. Finished.

Pink Creme Blush with Coconut Oil

  1. Pour an inch (2.5cm) of water into the pot.
  2. Add 4 tablespoons of pink eyeshadow or loose pink powder blush to the glass bowl.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of soy wax to the glass bowl.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil to the glass bowl.
  5. Place the glass bowl into the pot with the water, sitting just above the water and not touching the base of the pot. Turn the stove heat to high to melt the ingredients.
  6. Heat to melt the ingredients. Stir to assist the melting and to keep it all smooth.
  7. Remove from the heat once melted. Stir quickly and thoroughly, then pour the melted ingredients into the container.
  8. Place into the freezer. Leave for 10 minutes.
  9. Remove from the freezer after 10 minutes. The creme blush should have set nicely. Check that it is no longer liquid––if it is, pop it back in for a few more minutes.
  10. Use as needed. Apply with your clean fingers. Keep stored in a cool, dark place. Use within a month or two.

Tips

  • If results of the lotion and blush granules mixing together are very uneven or very swirly, add more pigment by using the same technique. Make more blush granules and pour on top of the uneven creme blush. Mix again. Repeat until desired finish and intensity.

Warnings

  • Be careful not to apply too much creme blush because it risks looking overdone.
  • Your skin will get oily and clogged if this method is used regularly.

Things You'll Need

Standard creme blush:

  • Blush compact with brush
