Steps
Moderating Your Own Use
- Don't use bad language or swear words. Club Penguin is a kids' site. While it can be and is used by teens as well as by children, you must assume that good language is a requirement. The website is moderated, both by people and by the programming, so keep this in mind while chatting. Using curse words will get you banned instantly. You will probably get away with "h*ll" and "d*mn". "Crud" gets through, and so do "darn" and "heck". Just don't use any other words besides those if you want to let off a little steam. Also, use these words sparingly! If you keep saying those words you will eventually get banned.
- Don't make adult references. This includes speaking about mature subjects as well as making movements or suggestions to another user on an adult topic. Don't talk about drugs or alcohol. Any reference to drugs or alcohol will get you banned, Club Penguin does not allow it.
- Don't use hate words. Using racist, sexist, sac religious, or any other type of hate words can get you banned. Besides, it's cruel. How would you like it if someone made fun of you for your religion or race?
- Don't be violent. Pretending to murder people and getting in physical fights will get you banned quickly. Club Penguin does not allow violence.
Being Sensible
- Never cheat or hack for items or money. There are many cheats that can be found online, but many of them are simply ways to hack your account or even put a virus on your computer. Not only is this against Club Penguin rules, but it's also dangerous to you.
- Using programs like Cp Trainer, WPE Pro, and Cheat Engine can get you banned forever. If you are going to use cheats or hacks, be very careful and make sure that they are safe.
- Avoid using private servers. There are private servers available online, but again, a lot of them will actually hack your account. Be sure that if you consider using a private server, you do your research on its reputation before going into it.
- Stay anonymous. This is an important part of being on any website. No moderator of Club Penguin will ever ask for your password or for personal information, so if someone asks for this, report and block that user immediately. It's always a safe idea to enter a different server as well.
Interacting with Other Penguins
- Be respectful to other users. Don't troll, annoy, or bully other users. There is a reporting system that is used by staff members, and continually bothering others in an area can lead to a report, which can also lead to a ban. Always be patient and kind with others.
- Don't lash out at penguins who anger you. If you get in a fight with an annoying penguin don't start calling names, assault them, or say a swear word then that is an easy way to get reported and banned. If someone is being rude to you, report them and tell them to leave you alone and stop being rude. If they continue, put them on your ignore list and go somewhere else.
- Don't be mean to Club Penguin babies. As fun as it is to be mean to them Everyone knows Club Penguin babies can act annoying and immature. Sure, you might get really mad at them, and that's understandable. Just keep your temper under control. No, they aren't real babies, they are most likely 8-10 year olds (some are teenagers that want to ruin club penguin or perverted adults) in real life, but you still shouldn't abuse them. They might get their feelings hurt in real life and tell their parents. You will also get banned very easily if you act violent or mean or even swear. If a toddler is annoying you and they won't leave you alone, just report them/put them on your ignore list. Then go somewhere else.
- Also: If you really don't like Club Penguin babies, that's okay. Many other players think they are annoying. If this is the case, avoid the pet shop, unless you need to buy stuff for your Puffle or play Puffle round-up. Then just ignore the babies and if they cling to you, go somewhere else and put them on your ignore list.
- Think before you talk. A simple break of thinking about what you say before you talk will often save you from getting banned. You can often get banned by saying something out of anger without thinking first, it happens to everyone. I'm not saying to spend five minutes thinking about what you're going to say whenever you are chatting, just be careful not to let anything slip out if you are angry at someone.
- Be a nice penguin for the most part and try not to break the rules. Standing up to cyber bullying is fine, as long as you don't overdo it and get violent or start fighting.
- Remember that it's only a game. Treat people how you want to be treated.
Tips
- If you are in an argument with someone, misspell words or use other words, for example most people say "beach" instead of b*tch. Or cod instead of God. Or, dove instead of love. You get the idea.
- Some people think you won't get banned if you say a bad word alone like in your igloo, but you really will get banned if you say bad words. Try not to curse on Club Penguin.
- Try contacting CP if you get banned by mistake. (Maybe if someone hacked your account, or you made a spelling mistake, like b*tch instead of hitch).
- You get a warning always when you break a rule from CP.
- Be kind and helpful. Courtesy is appreciated in any environment, and it can even get you more friends.
Warnings
- Do not lie like saying "follow me to a secret room!" It's cruel and it really does attract newbie-members.
- Some ways to get banned: Swearing (mostly in public areas), being really really scary and mean, breastfeeding, drugs and alcohol and hacking.
- Don't flip out on players too quickly. Flipping out too quickly or for no reason at other players is a road to getting banned quickly.
- Don't be mean or say anything like "LEAVE, GET OUT OF MY IGGY!" This can upset a user and cause them to report you.
- Don't use sexual references.
