Give Tours on Club Penguin

Have you noticed that all tour guides must have a tour guide hat? Otherwise they won't be able to give tours! Read on to learn how to give awesome tours in Club Penguin!

Steps

  1. Go to the Ski Village.
  2. You should see a booth by the ski lifts that says TOURS. Click it.
  3. A blue box should pop up in the middle of your screen. This is the quiz. Answer it as well as you can.
  4. Look in your inventory. If you passed the quiz, you should see a black hat with a question mark on it. Put it on. (Don't wear anything else, it won't work and this means anything). Then you will hold a sign.
  5. Now that you have passed the test, learn even more about Club Penguin. Tour guides should know the basics. Observe different behaviors and such.
  6. Go to the Actions button on your toolbar (which is at the bottom of the playing screen). Click on the waving penguin. You should now be holding a sign that says Tours here. Do this in a busy area such as the Plaza. The town is not a good place because it gets too crowded. The Ski Village is good also, but there may be other penguins there willing to give tours.
  7. Wait for a penguin to ask you for a tour. You could just take one or wait for a whole group. If nobody comes up to you, try waving. It's probably best to take around 3-4 penguins.
  8. Once you have a few penguins, go to each area in Club Penguin. Tell them everything you know! Also, you could try to make the tour more fun by sledding on the mountain or getting some coffee or playing cards. Go onto the chat and click activities and select give a tour.
  9. Always ask if there are any questions. If nobody has a question, move on. If they do, though, try your best and answer it! If you have no clue what the answer is, just say 'I'm sorry but I'm really not sure'.
  10. Always give your group time to waddle around the room so they can understand where they are and will be able to go back later.
    • Let them know when you are moving on to another room. Be sure that all questions have been answered and everyone is ready. Simply say, 'Follow Me.'
  11. End the tour with a catchphrase. Don't just say 'Bye'. You could say 'Thanks for touring the island!' or 'I hope you enjoyed the tour!'.

Tips

  • Always make sure your group is with you during the tour.
  • Never say anything inappropriate during the tour.
  • Try not to use the map during the tour. This is an easy way for your group to get lost.
  • Practice giving tours with your friends so you can become good at giving tours.
  • The quiz is full of general questions on Club Penguin. If you fail it you should do some research and try to pass it again.(you can try as many times as you want)
  • Do not use the map while giving a tour. If you want to show them to a secret room that you can't get to without the map, tell them to click on that secret room on theirs.
  • If you want to show them hidden places that you have to use the map to get to(like the Iceberg) make sure they know where to click.
  • Become friends with other tour guides so you can give tours with them.
  • Welcome people to your tour by sending them a postcard.
  • Sometimes, you should use your own words such as "Welcome to the Stadium! Here, preps hang out. It has become an after school hangout area." We don't want to lie to them.
  • If you don't know what to say, there are descriptions of each room in the Safe Chat box, under Give a tour. Try not using this though, because it can get boring after a while.

Warnings

  • Never get discouraged if nobody wants a tour. This shows that many penguins already have knowledge about this island!
  • It might take a long time to get someone who's interested.
  • Don't be rude to the group. They might leave and find another tour guide, or even report you.
  • Be aware of the map. Your group could get lost.
  • Don't be mean thinking you can get away with it because the group doesn't know how to report yet. Chances are other penguins will end up reporting you.
  • During the tour, don't be mean if the penguins aren't paying attention. Simply continue on with the tour and try to gain their attention.
  • You must be at least 45 days old or older to be a tour guide.
  • Do not be mean to the group when they are your buddies. If you do, they may unbuddy you!
