Be Emo at a School with Uniforms

Tired of wearing the same old plain and boring school uniform? Do you want to adopt the emo style? Does your school have uniforms that try to prevent your originality? This article will teach you how to be emo while sticking to the dress code!

Steps

  1. Get the hair. This is one of the most important steps because your clothes are limited. Straighten it using whatever method you like. Add a streak of color if you're allowed.Make sure you use protective spray so that it doesn't get damaged in the long-term.
  2. Do your makeup. A bit of black eyeliner and/or charcoal eyeshadow is quick, easy, and not too obvious. If you want to go for a more gothic approach, add some really light powder to your face.
  3. Wear the uniform correctly. If you can wear school colored Polos, khaki and black pants, add to this. Wear a girl-cut or tight Polo and buy skinny pants, but don't wear jeans if they're not allowed. Converse, Vans, and Nike Dunks are good "emo" shoes, although Converse are becoming more mainstream.
  4. Accessorize! If bracelets are allowed, wear many rubber bracelets. If you can wear a necklace, wear chokers for a more Goth look or Mardi Gras beads for a more scene look. Piercings are great if your teachers don't mind. Studded belts are good, bullet belts are probably frowned upon.
  5. Listen to emo music. My Chemical Romance, Paramore, and Fall Out Boy are good examples. Don't blast your music during class though. More bands include Mallory Knox, Lower Than Atlantis and Of Mice And Men.
  6. Act emo. You don't have to be depressed all the time. In fact, that is so stereotypical, everyone will expect it. Be friendly to those who talk to you, but don't start conversations with everyone. Be sensitive, smart, and quiet.
