Be a Classy Teenage Girl

This article explains shortly how to become a classier teenage girl. If you follow every step you may be able to achieve the girly attitude.

“We must never confuse elegance with snobbery.” -Yves Saint Laurent

Steps

  1. Find an Interesting Tidbit of Information Every Day from literature to astronomy, from politics to music. It's really not about how much information you have, it's about your opinions, even about things like abortion or animal rights or gay marriage.
  2. Be polite.
  3. Learn good manners.
  4. Stop swearing. It makes you look ignorant and cheap, not because you're a woman obviously. Swearing is stupid. Do not use any words that would be written out using symbols like #$!%...just AVOID those terms, ok?
  5. Be fit. A healthy diet and sports make you look acceptable and give you the self-confidence you make lack of.
  6. Choose a (one or more) style. Boho-chic, preppy, indie... Wikihow can be a great help with that. You could start with very simple outfits such as jeans (or khaki pants), a polo shirt or a very nice blouse, a simple cardigan, a ring, a necklace, earrings and a few thin bracelets. Further on you can experiment the art of skirts (pencil and tube skirts, (if you feel comfortable, then try mini skirts). When you get more confidence the girly style will be like a best friend for you.
  7. Nothing looks trashier than bleached blonde hair and dark brown roots. It doesn't look good. If you must dye your hair, dye it a natural color. As for straightening and curling, it's okay as long as you don't fry your hair. Additionally, wash your hair daily as to keep it clean.
  8. Don't hesitate! You are a woman, and women, remember, fat or thin, black or white, short or tall, are always outstanding and beautiful.
  9. Choose who your friends are. Nobody will tell you who to hang out with, and if you already have a lot of friends who are not exactly "girly", don't let them down. You are not your friends. It is always good to meet new people though.
  10. Be wise when shopping. Don't spend all your savings on a new wardrobe. Buy one piece at a time, every now and then. For example, if you really want boat shoes and a blue polo, then next time you go shopping that is what you'll look for.
  11. Get motherly. One main feature of women is to give birth to children. You don't have to love kids, that's okay! But please at least try to be kind to them. Offer to babysit if you do like children and show how tender you can be.
  12. The GGGJ - Good Girls Get a Job. A women in modern society is firstly independent. Prove it, girl! Get a job and complete your goals. If you demonstrate you are mature you'll also achieve more freedom.
  13. Be good to men! Enough of stupid ancient conflicts. Genders are just genders. So be nice! Don't tolerate sexism. Girliness has nothing to do with that. Make friends with guys. They can be great to help you catch those different point of views on things.
  14. Be with the person that makes you feel like the girl you really are and that loves you for it. It matters not the gender of this person. Love is love, and be with the person you love.
  15. Enjoy your girly experience!
  16. Remember: “You don't love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her” Learn to love yourselves, sisters!
  17. Keep a clean record: no drugs or alcohol, and don't let those with a dirty mouth get the best of you.
  18. Always speak politely and listen to others when they have something to say. It's annoying to speak with someone who is constantly ignoring and interrupting you.
  19. Don't post anything on the internet you'll regret. Trashing people on social networks, embarrassing things of or about other people, and nude photographs are all a BIG no-no. When you do post anything online, be sure to have acceptable grammar and spelling. "People hoo typez lyyke dis" are very annoying.

Tips

  • Always stay true to yourself.
  • Smile a lot. Smiles make women shine.
  • Get good grades and be outstanding. Don't act like a moron. Don't listen to what the other girls say, even if it makes you feel cooler. Avoid the "Mean Girls" style. It's not "classy".
  • Don't try too hard being a classy girly girl. For example: no "OMG I LOOOVE JOHNNY DEPP, HE'S SO SEXYYYYY!" or going completely crazy over colors like pink, baby blue, etc..
  • Don't discriminate people who are different from the way you are; not just to be classy but because it is not respectful. Respect is a priority.
  • About relationships and everyday goals: try to see things under many points of view, it is good.
  • Support your girlfriends, always!
  • A small amount of jewelry is ok, but no "Silly Bandz" up to your elbows or spiked dog collars covering your neck. A dainty necklace, a feminine pair of earrings, and a nice bracelet are enough.

Warnings

  • Remember you can't change your personality in a day!
