Be a Pupil Receptionist
Is your school giving you the opportunity to be a Student Receptionist for one day? How are you supposed to know what to do, where to go, what is expected of you?
Steps
- Wear all the correct uniform. Smart shoes, crisp clean clothes and a good bag. Don't be afraid to accessorize slightly though! If your school allows it, wear some lip gloss and cute badges/bracelet (for girls) and do your hair cool using some hair gel/nice trainers (for boys).
- Bring some sweets/mints as it may get quite boring if there are no tasks to do.
- Be at school on time and go to your tutor as normal. As soon as the lesson bell goes report to the main Reception with a friend (if your school allows that).
- Follow the instructions the Receptionist tells you to do, and ask if you can help.
- When you get given a task, follow it exactly. Note down the room number, recipient and any messages to give. Walk briskly and report back when you are done.
- Repeatedly ask every 10 minutes if there is anything you can do to help, you are THERE to help after all!
- Don't forget to have fun! You have a day off lessons! Chat to your friend (if there is one with you), relax and enjoy yourself. Remember rules like checking your phone and drawing, reading, and sleeping don't apply to you unless you are busy!
Tips
- Relax! You have a day off!
- If you are allowed a friend, prearrange to bring one along (plus a back up one)so there is no chance of being left high and dry!
- GET TO SCHOOL ON TIME at least this one time.
- Wear sensible uniform as any passing teachers will leave you alone and not check if you should be in lessons if you are acting responsible and have correct uniform
- Remember to bring LOADS of food, drink and sweets. Trust me, you will need it.
Warnings
- Don't go TOO out of hand in terms of rebellion as any teachers you are delivering messages to will get annoyed.
Things You'll Need
- A good clean uniform
- Lots of food
- Sweets
- A sensible bag
- Nice shoes
- A notepad and pen to record stuff on
- A friend (if allowed)
- A fresh approach to responsibility!
