Be an Actress on Disney Channel
If you are seriously interested in being a Disney star, then you have to be ready for work!
Steps
- Get parental support. If you are under 18, then ask your guardian if they are on board. (It's much easier if they are.)
- Do not look up Disney Open Casting Calls. For the most part, the places that say they have a casting call are scams.
- Look up talent agents in your area. This will be especially easy if you live near Los Angeles or New York.
- Write a legitimate and thorough resume. Look up resume formats online and be sure to get feedback from others when you've written it. Proofread closely.
- Get a head shot that will catch eyes. Head shots can be expensive, but you can also look at local college photo departments, which may offer photography services at lower costs from professional photographers!
- Choose your potential agents carefully. Do background research and make sure they're legitimate. Don't choose an agent that asks for money on the spot.
- Send out your information to agents you decided were good. Include your head shot, resume, and a short cover letter via mail (not e-mail).
- Prepare for auditions. Once you choose your agent, they will find you auditions.
- Stay up to date. You have to keep your head shots and resumes up to date, so you look like yourself.
- Be prepared for some setbacks. Business may be slow at first. Keep talking to your agent about opportunities and making your resume and experience stronger.
- Know that it's a long shot. You might not be on Disney Channel at first, but you may eventually.
- It takes a lot of work to get where Selena Gomez is. You have to practice your lines, master your character, and make yourself proud!
Tips
- Be willing to work hard and practice. The hard work will pay off.
- Don't give up if you have one bad experience. Keep looking and tell your agent how you feel.
- It's best to have your parents on board, so you have full support.
- Get involved! There are many different institutions that offer a variety of classes which may help you on your goal.
- Don't move to Los Angeles or New York before you know you have the job. You could waste a lot of money
- Look on disneychannel.com/opencall. They have all the open calls and where and when they are having auditions.
- Do not look for open calls they are usually scams!
- Just do your best.
- Concentrate on everything you do!
- Set your self like this is really happening with you.
- Never give up on your dream just keep being persistent.
