Block a User on MySpace

Myspace is a great place to get to know some new people, meet up with old friends and express yourself. However, there are some weird people on Myspace that you probably don't want to have contacting you. Here is how you can block a user from contacting you.

Steps

  1. Log into your Myspace profile.
  2. Go to the person's profile that you wish to block from contacting you.
  3. Click on the "Block User" link in their Contact Box. The box should be located underneath their display picture and information (by default) but everyone has the option of making a link anywhere else on their page.
  4. A pop-up box should have appeared. Select the OK button.
  5. The user has now been blocked from making contact with you!



Tips

  • It may be the safest to block anyone that you don't know.
  • If you don't wish for strangers and unknown people to contact you, change your profile to "private" status - only the people on your friend's list can view your profile.
  • After blocking someone you can go back at a later date and unblock them.

  • Alternatively, you can block the user by using the following URL: www.Myspace.com/469057408/index.cfm?fuseaction=block.blockUser&userID=<user ID>
  • If a person does not have a "Block" button or link on their profile, you can report them to Myspace.
