Set Your MySpace Profile to Private

Myspace is accessed by millions of users everyday. Unless you wish to allow any one of these millions of users to view everything that you post in your Myspace profile then you may want to set your profile to private.

Note: This method does not work in Myspace 2.0. You'll have to stay or revert to 1.0 for complete privacy.

Steps

  1. Log into your Myspace account.
  2. Click on "Account Settings."
  3. Click "Privacy Settings: Change Settings."
  4. Scroll down until you find the box that reads "Who Can View My Full Profile."
  5. You may now select one of the following options:
    • My Friends Only
    • Public
    • Only Users Under 18
  6. After selecting the option to want scroll down and click the "Change Settings" button.
  7. Your profile has now been set to private!



Warnings

  • If you change your age from 14 or 15 (to a higher one, for example 99 or 101) or use a false age (claiming you are 25 or 39, etc) in order to get a public profile, you risk of being reported and the deletion of your account.
  • Myspace does not allow any person under the age of 13 to hold an account. If reported, you also have the risk of being deleted. This information is stated in the Myspace TOS.
  • Remember that setting your profile to private has NO effect on the amount of profile views you get, Whenever someone clicks on you even when set to private the view is counted.
  • If you are under 18 your profile is automatically private from the public.
