Cancel an Uber Account
This article teaches you how to delete your Uber account and all data associated with it.

Steps
Using the Uber App
- Open the Uber app. If you aren't already signed into your Uber account in the app, you'll need to do so by typing your email address (or phone number) and password into the provided fields.
- Tap ☰. This is in the top left corner of the screen.
- Tap Help.
- Scroll down and tap Account and Payment. This option is below your "Recent Rides" section.
- Tap Account Settings and Ratings.
- Scroll down and tap Delete my Uber Account. It should be near the bottom of your screen.
- Type "Yes" into the top field. This will indicate to Uber that you do indeed wish to delete your account.
- Type an answer into the "Share details" field. This will give Uber an indication of why you chose to delete your account.
- This step is also required.
- Tap Submit. This will begin the account deletion process.
Using the Uber Site
- Open Uber's account deletion site. You can do this in a browser either on a computer or on a mobile device.
- Click or tap the Sign In To Get Help. If you're already signed into the Uber site, you can skip ahead to the field entry steps.
- Enter your Uber username or phone number.
- Click or tap Next.
- Enter your password. You'll have to select Next when you're done.
- Type "Yes" into the first field. This acts as confirmation.
- Enter a reason into the "Share details" field. If you are quitting because a specific complaint, you may want to enter it here.
- This step is also required.
- Click or tap Submit. Only do this if you're sure you wish to delete your account since doing so will begin the account deletion process.
Tips
- You can create a new Uber account at any time from within the app or on Uber's website.
- You can also use your Facebook info to sign into Uber.
Warnings
- Uber will keep some of your personal information on-hand after you terminate your account for legal reasons (or to collect any debt owed).
