Change Font on Mobile Phone
To change the default font on your cell phone, you have 4 steps to follow. Have root privilege, rename the font, reset the access. For details, read on.
Steps
- Obtain root privileges.
- Install an advanced mobile file manager which is similar with R.E.explorer.
- Locate the font which you want it to be replaced in the mobile phone SD card, and rename it. Follow the following rules to have it renamed. Rename the English font to DroidSans.ttf and rename Chinese font to DroidSans.ttf.
- Let’s take the R.E.explorer for example. After opening the file manager, go to the folder which stores the font to be replaced in SD card. Select the font you want. Press the font and select "Copy." Keep the R.E.explorer working; click the back button on the file manager to access the system / fonts folder, and then click "Paste."
- After the paste, set the permission to access the new font (To replace DroidSans.ttf, set the permission to be DroidSans.ttf permission; To replace DroidSansFallback.ttf, set the permission to be DroidSansFallback.ttf). Long press the file, and then select "permissions." Give the read-writer access to users and groups, and read-only access to others.
Tips
- Samsung phones running the stock firmware can change their fonts without rooting.
