Change the Cabin Air Filter in a Maruti Suzuki Swift

The cabin filter is a smaller, denser version of the intake air filter in a vehicle. The filter is made of paper housed in a plastic form and it is attached to the air-conditioning and heating systems, and is the last line of defense for preventing unwanted dust, allergens and particulate matter from entering the interior (cabin) of the vehicle.

  • Note: The air cabin filter is located in glove compartment under the dashboard of the car.

Steps

  1. Open the glove compartment of the car by pressing from both sides.
  2. Find the air cabin filter unit.
  3. Press both clips, remove the cover of the filter unit in order to release the cabin filter unit.
  4. Remove the old or dirty air cabin filter.
  5.  Vacuum the filter chamber before installing the new filter. Wipe with a damp cloth. Check the condition of gaskets and seals and replace if needed.
  6. Install the new air filter and then lock it with the cover by simply putting into it.
  7. Close the glove compartment and make sure of the clicking noise of the clips which confirms the locking of the glove box.
