Cook Korean Spicy Boiled Rice Cake
Korean spicy boiled rice cake is a very popular snack in Korea, especially for kids and women. The recipe is simple, so everyone can cook it easily.
Ingredients
- 3 Tbs red pepper sauce
- sticky rice cake
- 1 Tbs soy sauce
- 1 Tbs sugar
- onion
- green onion
- garlic
- some vegetables(such as carrot, cabbage)
- 3 cups of water
- tempura
Steps
- In a large pan, put water, red pepper sauce and sugar. Mix and boil for 5 minutes.
- Put minced garlic, chopped onion, chopped green onion and some vegetables and boil for 5 minutes.
- Put sticky rice and tempura and boil for 3 minutes.
- Put soy sauce and boil for 2 minutes
- Enjoy eating.
Tips
- If you are non-Korean, go to Korean market and find the Korean rice cake corner. It is shaped like a finger. It is popular in Korea so you can get it easily.
- If it is too spicy, you can add ketchup.
- Spicy boiled rice cake doesn't have typical recipes, so it's up to you! You can add more sugar, soy sauce or anything.
Warnings
- If you buy frozen rice cake, you have to check whether it is cooked or not.
- In the Korean market, there are many kinds of red pepper sauce. If you want a little container, you can choose a small one. Most red pepper sauces are similar in taste, but be careful of vinegar red pepper sauce! This is for sushi.
