Tips

  • If you want you can add more vegetables into this sabji.
  • You can use pieces of coconut to make it crunchy. Make sure that the pieces of coconut are cooked well before you add the potatoes. Coconut takes more time than potatoes to get cooked.
  • This curry/sabji can be eaten with chapati or rotis!
  • If you want to make potato sabji just for two people take two medium sized potatoes and add two teaspoons of the spices given in the steps.
  • You can add this sabji into noodles when you make noodles. Just mix the sabji with your noodles after they are prepared.
  • You don't need to always add all the spices together. Only salt, chili powder and turmeric powder are necessary for this recipe.

Warnings

  • Be careful while adding the diced potatoes, the oil may burn your hand.
  • Be careful while using the chili powder, as extra chili powder spoils the taste of the sabji or can make it extra spicy.
  • Check whether the potatoes are properly cooked.
  • Calculate the amount of spices you need to add according to the quantity of potatoes.
