Create a Sims 2 Big Brother House

Many Sims 2 fans have adapted to the Big Brother House trend. This article will give you the skill you need to create the ideal house.

Steps

  1. Consider a theme for the house. Many themes are associated more with the actual layout of the house, such as a "claustrophobic" or "inside-out" theme. Consider this method carefully instead of putting random dribs and drabs everywhere.
  2. Consider the layout design of the house. Completely build the wall structure without adding any furniture. Remember, every "Big Brother" house is completely enclosed, even the yard has walls. Take into consideration the number of house-mates you are going to put in the house at any given time.
  3. Build the yard. Construct the wall around the space that you want the yard to be, but don't enclose the entire yard. Leave one space to put in a concrete fence slab, so that light still shines through.
  4. Renovate the house with color. The color should match the associated theme that you picked.
  5. Furnish your house. Just make sure that the furniture matches with the theme as well.
  6. Add a diary room to be used as a house mate privacy room.
    • If you decide to film using the Video Camera Function, allow more space inside the house so film shots do not have bits of outside light in it.
  7. Add a gate for your Sims to get into the house with. Once everyone is inside the house, delete it and replace it with a wall. If you have Open For Business (or a later expansion pack) installed, you'll be able to lock and unlock the gate.

Tips

  • Life doesn't need to be fair, so restrict your Sims if you want.
  • There does not need to be separate bedrooms.
  • If you have The Sims 2: University, use the camera career reward (artist career) to make the diary room look a little bit more realistic.
  • There does not have to be enough space.
  • Food and hygiene is a privilege.
  • Privacy is a privilege, not a right.
  • The house doesn't have to sufficiently provide for house mates
  • The furniture does not have to be sufficient

Warnings

  • House mates will complain. Be ready.
  • Make sure that house mates make good use of things in the house. There's no point adding things in the house they won't use. E.g. if your Sims are lazy they will not use the pool.
