Deal With Overly Competitive People
There's a little bit of competitiveness in everyone, but when you meet someone who, well, is slightly overly competitive, there's always a problem. Read on to solve that problem.
Steps
- You can tell straight away who the overly competitive one in the room is by the way they talk when competition is brought up. They will be a lot more confident and usually, a bit arrogant.
- If they challenge you, reject, because it won't be fun. Overly competitive people don't believe in friendly competition.
- When they win, they boast forever, and when they lose, it's not pretty! Don't boast if you beat them in something, because they will bite back, and that won't be fun.
- When you participate in a school sports day or you're going for a job promotion against them, just avoid them. They are not comforting if you lose and if you win they become jealous and bitter.
- If they beat you and start to gloat, walk away and ignore them. If this is done they don't get the satisfaction they want and crave, and they will give up.
- Don't get caught in their web, they want you to compete against them. Doing this will make you too over competitive as well.
Warnings
- Don't get too overly competitive whilst trying to avoid the certain person.
- Being competitive is good, but too much of it can make you irritating and very unlikable.
- If you are forced to be around competitive person, try to be logical and calm.
- If competitive person target you at social group and want to use you as means to make jokes and make himself look better start ignoring him/her and do not show any emotion towards it while being normal towards other group members. This way he/she will feel excluded and will try to get on your good side.
