Deciding What to Pack for Vacation

  1. Pack the obvious things you need. (Toothbrush, comb...etc.)
  2. Know where you are going. Always know how the weather will be in the place where you will be going. Pack based on the activities that you are going to be doing. If it is a sunny beach, pack sunblock. If it is a snowy mountain, pack snow goggles. (etc.)
  3. Bring an outfit for every day you are there. (And extras just in case)
  4. Visiting family? Bring some photos that probably nobody else has of family.
  5. Bring formal wear. No matter the occasion, you never know who you are going to meet or end up doing.
  6. Make a checklist for everything you need, so you don't forget anything when you leave.

Tips

  • Bring chargers for electronics you bring.
  • Bring books, electronics (etc.) to keep you occupied on the trip up.
  • If you are going somewhere warm, still pack a pair of jeans and a hoodie or something, just in case it rains, or gets a little chilly!!
  • Try to add a variety to your suitcase because the weather could change quickly. But, don't pack 4 sweaters and 3 tank tops if you are going to the beach. Pack mostly clothes that match the usual weather of your vacation spot.
  • Bring soap and shampoo. Not all hotel bathrooms have them and if you have a big family, you might run out.
  • Put a dryer sheet in with your clothes, it helps to keep them smelling fresh!
  • If you are going anywhere if it's hot or cold pack at least a pair of pants and a sweater.
  • Bring extra things for the bathroom if the hotel runs out.
  • If the trip will be very wet due to weather conditions, place a plastic bag to line your travel bag, so that you can pack your clothes while keeping them dry.
  • Pack your outfits in a bag while putting them into the suitcase. It's way more easier to find the same pants that goes with your shirt!
  • Bring meals to eat at a rest stop if you don't want to always get fast food.

Warnings

  • Make sure that you close your bags, you don't want anything to fall out.
  • Do not pack the bag so full that things can easily get caught in the zipper.
  • Rolling shirts and pants increases wrinkles, so only do it if you don't care about wrinkles.
