Delete Instant Upload Photos

Google has introduced its Instant Upload service to automatically upload every photo and video taken by smartphone users to their private folder on Google+. Those photos can then be edited and/or shared into other folders later. To avoid this, delete the photos you don't want in your Instant Upload folder.

Steps

Manually Deleting Uploads

  1. Log into Google Plus from your computer.
  2. Find your Instant Upload album.
  3. Select photos you'd like to delete. Right-click on them and choose "Delete."
    • Delete the entire album if you don't want any future instant uploads onto Google Plus.
  4. Check if you have any photos uploaded to Picasa at this link: https://picasaweb.google.com/home. Delete any that you don't want to keep.
    • Delete the entire album if you don't want any future instant uploads onto Picasa.

Disabling Instant Uploads

  1. To disable the Instant Upload feature, open your Google Plus app from your device. Tap the menu to the left.
  2. Tap the wrench to open the Settings page.
  3. Go to the "Instant Upload" section. Tap "When to upload."
  4. Switch the "Instant Upload" tab to the off position.
  5. Restart your device to complete the disabling.
